Starmist Prime is the ancient, highly advanced homeworld of elves, humans, rylak, and dragons, located in "the Starmist solar system, Sector 421". It is remembered as a world of incredible beauty and technology, the "home of countless wonders beyond your wildest dreams". The planet was the birthplace of the massive device known as Xyclami (Guruthos), which was built to store "the sum knowledge and history of the Starmist system and all its residents".
Tragically, the planet faced an apocalyptic threat when it "was attacked by a great threat: marauders. Aliens, warlike beings bent on destruction. They were called the Xelle". Knowing they could not defeat this enemy, the leaders of Starmist Prime enacted a plan to save their species by placing them on generational ships and sending them to Seed Planets (like Valaralda, Earth, and Eryn). Though Starmist Prime was ultimately destroyed, its legacy lives on, and at the end of the series, the hatching of the first dragons on Eryn leads Kira to declare the new planet "Starmist reborn".
