Xelle
The Xelle are an incredibly dangerous, marauding alien species. Described as warlike beings bent on total destruction, they were the primary cosmic threat to the ancient, highly advanced civilization on the planet Starmist Prime.
History and Legacy
The Assault on Starmist Prime
Long before the events of the series, the Xelle launched a devastating assault on the Starmist system. The native inhabitants of Starmist Prime—a coalition of elves, humans, dragons, and rylak—managed to repel the alien marauders, but only at a great and terrible cost.
The leaders of Starmist Prime realized that their victory was only temporary and that it was only a matter of time before the Xelle returned with larger forces and even more devastating weaponry.
The Seeding
To ensure the ultimate survival of their people against the impending Xelle invasion, the leaders of Starmist Prime enacted a desperate, multifaceted survival plan. They launched generation ships to distant "Seed Planets" (including Mar, Valaralda, and Eryn), scattering their populations across the universe to start new lives.
Xyclami
The second portion of their survival plan involved keeping their highly advanced, quantum-tunneling technology out of the enemy's hands. Fearing the Xelle would claim these godlike devices, the Creators of Starmist Prime banished their greatest inventions into the far reaches of space.
One of these devices was Xyclami (known to later generations as Guruthos or the Fall), a machine of near-limitless power that would eventually become the source of all magic across the Prime Planets. In the original language of the Twins, the name "Xyclami" directly translates to "Xelle ender," revealing its original design as a superweapon meant to defeat the alien marauders.
Other Conquests
Xyclami was not the only machine the inhabitants of Starmist Prime released into the universe. The Xelle seek them all—and will stop at nothing to get them.
