Falnarub is identified as the "largest" of the three great cities of the People, situated in the eastern reaches of the former United States. According to elven records and the "Telling" of Segena, the city was "laid... at the feet of the skeleton of New Yurk," suggesting it was built amidst the ruins of ancient New York City. It is part of the original triad of Remnant settlements united by the Prophet Magona, alongside Gulthurub in the West and Lusvunub in the Middle.
The city is notable for its significant "cache of military reclamation," possessing more reliable weaponry and military assets than neighboring settlements like Lusvunub. Despite its size and strength, Falnarub is historically characterized as "isolationist," with its People initially refusing to join the centralized coalition under Magona until much later in the series. It represents a distant but powerful faction of the Remnant who survived the Sundering by scavenging the remains of the old world's major population centers.
