The Telling Chamber is a large, subterranean ritual hall located beneath the Remnant stronghold of Gulthurub. Accessible via a staircase, the room is "dark, but with fluorescent lights placed at intervals throughout. The lights were steady, a little bit blue, shining toward the center of the room". The focal point of the chamber is a central dais where "a pedestal" stands holding a "golden globe of metal... and Phoenix could see the number 1 imprinted in a pattern all along it".
This room serves as a gathering place for the People to eat and listen to "Tellings"—mythological histories recounting the deeds of their god, Magona. Phoenix and Beam are brought down into this metal-walled room as prisoners to witness Segena’s Telling, an event that is abruptly interrupted when the settlement falls under a massive attack and alarms begin to blare.
