Shockstriking is a highly destructive darkprime magic fueled by dark elm and fir (often referred to as "metalelm"). It allows the mage to summon and shoot brilliant balls and bolts of blue electricity from their hands or channeled through weapons. While incredibly lethal and capable of blasting enemies backward or blowing holes through flesh and metal, the magic requires an immense amount of physical energy to cast repeatedly.
In the Under, the prominent shockstriker Dill names his faction "Shock Crew" in honor of this explosive power. Other notable shockstrikers include the underkids Dust, Jackal, and Slab, who use the power to win high-speed undercar dogfights against Cothellon forces. On the planet Eryn, the demisoul Jascyn discovers he is a tremendously powerful shockstriker, raining dozens of deadly lightning bolts upon the villainous Calarel.
