The Sholorna Wilds
The Sholorna Wilds is a vast and perilous jungle region located on the planet Eryn. Situated to the east of the Kojo River, it is considered every bit as dangerous as the Kalmansa Wilds that lie across the water.
Geography and Environment
The Sholorna Wilds is characterized by an endless, sweltering green canopy punctuated by huge clearings where massive cavek herds roam. Deep within this jungle lies a treacherous landscape that is largely inhospitable to rylak packs, which the native ellr intentionally use to their advantage to remain hidden.
The most prominent location concealed within the Sholorna Wilds is the secret ellr city of Aldaron, which is masterfully built into a cliffside covered in glittering waterfalls. To the south of Aldaron, the jungle eventually thins out and stretches toward the Dark Forest of Lagafel and the volcanic Kryptan Mountains.
Like the rest of Eryn's untamed environments, the Sholorna Wilds is teeming with lethal predators, including dragons, cavek, and other fierce creatures.
Key Events
Jascyn's Dragon Flight
During the dragon attack on Felgr, the rylak Jascyn saves the life of a massive dragon named Ranu. Ranu takes flight, carrying Jascyn high over the jungle canopy. They cross the boundary of the Kojo River and enter the airspace above the Sholorna Wilds. Here, Jascyn marvels at the breathtaking, unprecedented view of the endless green jungle and a massive herd of cavek wandering in a clearing below, giving him a new appreciation for the world outside his pack.
Lysa's Rescue
Fleeing from a deadly kabul wildcat, the ellr slave Lysa leaps into the freezing Kojo River and is swept over a massive waterfall. Miraculously surviving the plunge, she is pulled from the water by a patrol of well-dressed, armed ellr. Recognizing the extreme danger of the Sholorna Wilds, they quickly carry her through the jungle to their hidden fortress city of Aldaron, introducing her to a society of free ellr.
The Bastion Against the Dark
Once inside Aldaron, the ellr Council Leader Ashryn explains to Lysa that their city survives in the Sholorna Wilds purely through strict secrecy. The ellr specifically chose a location in the jungle that was too inhospitable for rylak packs to settle. To further protect themselves, they actively spread rumors that the area is cursed with evil spirits to frighten the wolf-like predators away.
