New Haight is an "Under territory" that served as a critical stronghold and resource for the subterranean gangs. Though physical descriptions of the area are scarce, it holds significant political weight in the Under's gang wars.
The territory is notably controlled by an alliance between the formidable Tenderloin Crew and the Waller Crew. When Phoenix and Beam wipe out the Waller Crew, it inadvertently strikes a massive blow to Tenderloin Crew’s operations, with Beam noting that it "just cost Tenderloin all of New Haight. They’ll have to build their contacts there from scratch. They’re going to find it hard to live for the next few months".
