Ineb-Hed is an ancient human city located in Egypt on Earth, existing around 4912 years ago (2695 B.C.) during the reign of Pharaoh Sneferu. When the ancient elven Prime Mage Tarathiel (Trey) uses mistweaving magic to disguise himself as a local and infiltrate the city, he observes that "The city was beautiful, though very strange to Tarathiel’s eyes. Everything was still so backwards, so primitive. The humans on Earth had not yet risen to the technological heights that Tarathiel sometimes dimly remembered from a past life".
Tarathiel travels to the city tracking a secret society of humans who have somehow gained access to darkprime magic. While standing at the edge of the city looking out into the desert, his mission is briefly derailed when he watches a swirling sandstorm miraculously take the shape of a man, hinting at the vast, unchecked magical forces beginning to awaken on Earth.
